My name is Beatrice Mwella, a Graduate Electrical Engineer pursuing a Master’s degree in Power Systems at the University of Dar es Salaam.
I am, among other things, an educator and sustainable energy enthusiast. I love writing, networking, and research.

Hello, I am Hadee Panjwani, a Senior at the International School of Tanganyika.
I found my passion for Rare Disease activism for rare diseases in 2019.
In my TedX speech, I aim to explore the deeper meaning of being a rare disease advocate.
Other than rare disease advocacy, I love taking on leadership roles and swimming in my free time.
My name is Ibrahim Mawala.
I am a proud Tanzanian currently a senior at IST. My interests lie in raising awareness on various aspects of life for youths. As someone who has always been interested in decisions and how to navigate them, I am excited to share my experiences with the TEDx audience.
I am looking forward to discussing how our choices will determine our future and how we can make a positive impact on our families, school, and community.
Hello, my name is Sunskriti Jain and I am currently an IB1 student at the International School of Tanganyika. I have many passions within this school, but one of my biggest ones is my service group, Furaha.
I am very eager to learn more about the youth justice system in Tanzania and how the re-integration process can affect a child. I hope that my TedX Talk can help foster this curiosity within other people, but also raise attention to this crucial aspect of our society.
TEDxYouth@Upanga
TEDxYouth@Upanga is an independently organised TEDxYouth event that will take place for the fourth time in Upanga, Dar es Salaam on April 1, 2023.
The last few years have certainly brought to our attention that we could all pause to reflect about what we believe we know about ourselves, our lives, our society and the world at large. With the global pandemic and a range of other political, economic and environmental issues, we are invite to try and unlearn our old ways of living, thinking and being and redefine what is known
TEDx YOUTH
At the TEDx event, participants experience live TED talks, pre-recorded TED talks, and performances by students and local artists
TEDx, x = independently organised event
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.)
TEDxYouth
TED upholds the ideal of sharing ideas that are worth spreading. That is why they created the program ‘TEDx’. TEDx is a program of local events organized independently of TED, but within TED rules and guidelines. Our event is called TEDxYouth@Upanga, with the ‘x’ signifying that is independently organized and the ‘Youth’ signifying the audience will be Tanzanian youth. At the coming events, we will hear from live speakers and online TED Talks that will provoke debate within the audience. Since the program’s inception in 2009, there have been over 10 000 events and 50 000 talks given across the world. We count ourselves lucky to have joined such an elite group.
